Sandbelt Invitational 2023 – ‘Sharing is Caring’.

Photo: Paul Shire.

The third Sandbelt Invitational has been run and won in spectacular fashion by NSW’ s Daniel Gale, with a hole-in-one on the 70th hole allowing him to squeeze past Victoria’s Matthew Griffin for the overall title on the final day around Royal Melbourne’s East Course.

The unique nature of this tournament – pitting amateurs and professionals, boys and girls, men and women, across four great golf courses – is a credit to hosts and founders, Geoff Ogilvy and Mike Clayton, and the Geoff Ogilvy Foundation in general. It was an absolute pleasure to take in all that this tournament has quickly become over four spectacular days at Victoria, Peninsula Kingswood, Yarra Yarra and Royal Melbourne.
